About MOVE
Welcome to the University of the Pacific!! We are awaiting your arrival and are excited for you to start your first year with an exciting adventure. The MOVE Program (Mountains, Ocean, Valley Experience) is a great opportunity to meet new people, explore the beautiful landscape of California, and get connected with your local and surrounding communities. Every first year student will participate in activities at one of the locations described on this website as a part of Welcome Week.
We will kick-off your first year at Pacific with a Welcome Gathering on Thursday, August 23rd at 6pm on the DeRosa UC lawn. It is imperative that you attend this event in order to board the busses to your MOVE location. Your parents and family are invited to join you at the Welcome Gathering, if you like. On this night you will have the opportunity to meet the Site Supervisor for your chosen location as well as other students that will be on the same adventure! You will begin your adventure early Friday morning, August 24th and will return to campus the evening of Saturday 25th, in time for Block Party 2.0. You can look forward to exciting days of stewardship, exploration, fun, and new friends. For students that are unable to travel to a distant location, we have three MOVE options in the San Joaquin Valley that will allow you to stay in the Stockton area overnight.
Please take the time to read about each MOVE location. All the experiences have limited space, so be sure to select your preferred location today through the admitted student portal to get your spot!
